Re: Eclipse : Problem with processes

I will try helping you:

1st. You do not need to post on the Arch64 & other forums unless you really believe it is an architectures-specific problem, you could post it on the General Progamming forum.

2nd. You do not need to be sorry because of your english skills. Mine is not much better, but it is a good idea to read some english and study some also, to grant you will not be misundertanded because of some wrong wording. It would also help telling us from where you are, for ensuring that someone that knows your language can help others understanding you.

3rd. You might like to read the forum rules and other interesting things to know about the forums on the Newbie Corner, as there is a lot of useful Stickies that can help you avoid trouble, such as being banned for necro-bumping or cross-posting. So, if you feel it is better to move your post to General Programming as I told you, ask one Forum Administrator to move it for you, and please, do not cross-post.

4th. Keep active in the forums, and congrats for first post!

But I cannot help you any further, as I do not use Eclipse. But just kill the processes while you da not find a solution smile.

Re: Eclipse : Problem with processes

Thread moved to Newbie Corner.

@valium - messages such as these should be emailed directly to the OP, while the intent and content is good, its very off-topic for the thread.

@OP
Eclipse here does not fail to properly terminate. What error messages (if any) do you get when running eclipse from the terminal. Do you have it installed through pacman or is it running from your home directory someplace.

Re: Eclipse : Problem with processes

Hi,

@valium

Im from Slovakia. Next time I'll be careful.

@ngoonee

Eclipse doesn't return error messages, but when i close the window, it looks like still working (process sleeping). I tried to kill process, but it didn't help me (ram hasn't been released - computer freezes). Eclipse is installed by pacman. I checked the error messages too but without success.

When I type ps -ax|grep eclipse

Re: Eclipse : Problem with processes

Hi,

Problem is probably solved. Problem was GNOME (When I installed xfce problem disappeared). I can not explain it but i am very happy that it isnt architectures-specific problem. But it also has the advantage ... xfce is much faster. smile  Thank u smile

Re: Eclipse : Problem with processes

I've got the same issue (on Gnome too)....
I have to kill -9 `pidof java` each time I close eclipse....

Re: Eclipse : Problem with processes

Maybe it's an issue with the way you're launching eclipse?  How are you doing that?

I am using gnome and run eclipse without this issue cropping up.

Re: Eclipse : Problem with processes

eclipse downloaded from eclipse.org (not the one from the repo) as I want it to be installed in my home directory.
I'm just running eclipse with ./eclipse in eclipse directory (extracted from the archive).
There must be something wrong in my home directory, but I've already tried to remove .eclipse directory...
This issue seems to be related to the latest jdk/jre updates...as I've never noticed this before...

Re: Eclipse : Problem with processes

I've just tried eclipse from the repo, and it still the same thing...
I've also tried to change the workspace, to change java (openjdk6 AND jdk/jre)...
