Re: System Laggs while copying files

it still is there with kernel 2.6.37.
It can also be observed, when extracting/unpacking large rar files…

anyone here tried the 2.6.38-rc1 kernel? it is supposedly enhancing desktop “smoothness”/responsiveness when under load… (sched_autogroup_enabled)

sched_autogroup_enabled = 0:

sched_autogroup_enabled = 1

The patch that phoronix is trying has nothing to do with this

Re: System Laggs while copying files

oh…
ok, I did not know that :-)
thanks for clearing things up :-)

seems like I can cross off “compile kernel 2.6.38-rc1” of my TODO list ;-)
I’ll replace it by “compile kernel with -ck1 patch set” :-D

This also supposedly is helping (due this BFS scheduler and stuff like that) when it comes to desktop responsiveness

(btw: as you may noticed, I am not an expert in this area^^)
