[SOLVED] SLiM causes Keyboard weirdness on VT

Whenever I'm logged into xfce4 via the SLiM login manager, keyboard input on the virtual terminals (tty1, tty2, ...) does not work properly anymore. Quite often pressing a key has no effect at all and the key needs to be pressed again to show up on the screen. (This is particularly annoying when trying to enter a password...)

However, when I start xfce with "startx" or with a different login manager like gdm the problem does not occur at all. Therefore I suppose it must be somehow related to SLiM. Any thoughts?

Here is my /etc/slim.conf

Does it effect all of the ttys, or just the one from which slim was started.  It is a known problem that slim steals keystrokes from tty1 when it  is started from the init scripts, but the work around is / has been to select tty2 - tty6.  Could you check again that it indeed impacts all ttys, and not just tty1.

You are right, it only affects the tty it was started from. - I've missed that, thanks. :-)

Well then, this problem does not seem that bad anymore and I can go back to using slim.
