Question about ArchBang

Arch provides only 'bare' installation images; we do not provide live CD's. You can safely assume everything with a GUI is non-official.

I assume that the people behind ArchBang communicated with the Arch developers before releasing their installer, but i personally think it's not a really good idea if derivate distros have a full reference to Arch in their names. It causes just this kind of confusion.

It is 99% identical to Arch, but do note that no community support will be given on these forums for installations done from non-official media: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fo … ow_to_Post

Well, that makes sense. I went and checked out their website after seeing these other posts, and noticed that their site directs new users straight here. Hope things are cleared up for you now.

OT: It appears ArchBang's wiki doesn't have any captcha security, which leads to this sort of thing. Neat. This might explain why they link directly to the Arch wiki.
