ATI GraphicCaralyst problem

Hi
I have a problem with my graphic driver
Now I found the solution in this article
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AT … _or_startx
But anybody can explain me what does the below text mean ?

Wiki wrote:

Boot to init3, add the number 3 at the end of the menu.lst kernel options:
# rm /etc/ati/amdpcsdb

Finally forgive my poor English
Thank you so much

Re: ATI GraphicCaralyst problem

Right after boot you get in the GRUB menu. Select the entry with the arrow keys but dont press 'enter' as you normally would. Press 'e' instead, this will allow you to edit the entry. You will get to a new screen with all the lines of that entry, select the line tha says 'kernel ....' and press 'e' again. Put a '3' at the end of the line, 'enter' when you are done and 'b' to boot.

Normally you should boot to init5 which willl start X. Booting to init3 will only give you a terminal.
