color resolution (nvidia drivers)

I installed nvidia drives as explained in the wiki, but whenever I startx, I get kind of fuzzy graphics...almost like i'm back to 256 color or something.

If i change "nvidia" back to "nv"  its back to normal.

How do I change this?

Re: color resolution (nvidia drivers)

Have you un "xorgcfg -textmode"? It gives you several menus to configure your X. Afterwards it writes the settings to /etc/X11/xorg.conf so they're used when you startx.
