[SOLVED] Suspend to RAM with SATA/AHCI on an HP hdx 16t

Hi,

I have this problem with both openSuSE 11.3 (2.6.34.7) and Arch (2.6.36.3). After the system is suspended to ram, it can not cleanly wake up. The graphics-related stuff works OK, but the filesystems fail to mount, and the console is filled with sata errors. According to dmesg, my machine has SATA drives and ahci.ko loaded. Since the FS aren't mounted after resume, the logs only show a clean suspend, but nothing on resume...

I think this issue was discussed in https://lists.linux-foundation.org/pipe … 28348.html, and fixed in 2.6.34.8 by Tejun Heo (still waiting on suse to update the repos). But what about 2.6.36/37? Does anyone else have this problem or an idea how to fix it?

Thanks.

Hmm... loving the enthusiasm smile

Anyway, this turned out to be a wierd issue with HP/Insyde BIOS. In case someone else comes across this, here is the link to hp forums:

It is partially fixed by a BIOS update... It's solved for now.
