mounting as user, but gets root ownership

Whenever I try to mount an NFS share on my computer as a user, it gives it root ownership.  The original directory has ownership by my user.  The options in my /etc/fstab are "user, auto". I tried looking through the nfs and mount man pages, but I couldn't find anything that really helped me out.  Anyone know what could be going on and how I can fix this?  Thanks in advance!

Try defaults, user and make sure mountpoint permission are set correctly.
