Sorry, I should have put this in the hardware section.
I have a headset plugged into the S/PDIF In and Out of the 9-Pin connector cord that came with
the Audiophile 2496 (M-Audio). It is plugged in as well. My mother board includes an snd-hda-intel
drive card.
I have followed every piece of relevent instructions that I could find on the Arch Wiki, but I am not hearing
any sound. I do see output in the "Digital Mixer" of envy24control.

"Find a line that says: 'IEC958 Playback Switch'. Near it you will find a line saying value:false. Change it to value:true."

Monitors: PCM 1 & 2 unmuted and set to 10 below peak

I am at a loss. I have never used a professional audio card with Linux. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me

Perhaps I made a stupid mistake. I forced the 3.5mm plugs into the S/PDIF cable. They seemed to fit so I didn't think much of it. Was that wrong?

Turns out I just made stupid mistakes with the hardware and cables. This card works perfectly with envy24control. I have excellent audio coming out of Alesis M1 Active Mk2 monitors! Could a moderator close/destroy this?
