Installing debug symbols for kwin and kde?

I use KDE and Kwin currently crashes quite often. The bug reporting kicks in and gives me the option to submit an automated bug report. Unfortunately, it then complains that the generated backtrace is useless. How can I install the missing debugging symbols?

There is no such thing as -debug packages for archlinux.

The only thing you can do is recompiling kdelibs using this wiki page https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/De … ing_Traces

Re: Installing debug symbols for kwin and kde?

Thanks! Too bad, though, because recompiling KDE just to generate a bug report is simply too much work.

Has anyone given thought to providing debug packages for Arch? Has there been discussion about it?

Re: Installing debug symbols for kwin and kde?

Thanks! I voted on the feature request. I understand the arch devs have other things to do, but being able to report bugs properly would be pretty nice smile
