Hello.
After I installed this package from AUR (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=41472) to fix my channel -1 bug appearing while using airodump-ng, I cannot connect to any WiFi. The Networkmanager-applet shows no connections. Netcfg isnt working either. Strange is, that putting the card into the monitor mode still works with seeing available networks properly.
I think something went wrong with the ath5k kernel module. Seemed like the AUR-Package tried to compile a patch against my wireless driver. Any idea how to fix this? My biggest problem is, that I'm traveling in New Zealand without any opportunity to get a wired connection within the next months...
Im sure I missed loads of useful information for solving this case, i appreciate any effort to help an Arch-noob
Thanks guys.

Why not remove the compat-wireless package then and test your theory?
The compat-wireless project never replaces your stack and drivers, it merely gets precedence on the existing ones. Removing it should return your system back to normal.

Strange and beautiful. Of course this was the first I did before posting this, but without success. Apparently my laptop had to sleep on it - today all's fine again.
Thanks a lot.

Good to hear. Next time, make sure your post is complete though, so people don't start suggesting things you already tried .
