Frustrated by the recent changes in the LIRC infrastructure, I'm thinking about buying a new remote to use with XBMC.
Any suggestions on cheap ones that you're happy with? Well, with kernel >= 2.6.36 and up-to-date lirc, of course
Thanks!

zapstream is a nice one for $30.
To see the relevant configs for lirc and xbmc, see my github repo.

The one graysky mentioned is good. If you have a learning universal remote you can get yourself back down to one remote by having it learn streamzap's buttons. Only complaint I have is that the cord is a bit thin on the reciever.

Thanks for your suggestion!
Problem is that I can't find it in the local (german) Amazon. Maybe an import via UK is possible, will check that out.

Can't help ya there... perhaps you can locate it via another supplier (DE)? Just search on the model/part number.
