[Request] ATI-drivers

Wondering if anyone would bother building fresh ati drivers for the latest kernel. Having enormous trouble with the existing ones from the link repos.

Re: [Request] ATI-drivers

I had been doing that for my own self with a custom kernel for awhile. The problem is I realized that even using patches found on the Rage3D fourms the drivers were still not very good when using with the latest kernel, so I just downgraded to 2.6.10 on my desktop. Thats my recommendation if want the most stable environment for your ati drivers.

Re: [Request] ATI-drivers

Thanks qwerty!

I followed it, and it all went fine, however, when I try to modprobe fglrx, I get this:

root(kalliope):/home/postlogroot(kalliope):/home/postlogic$ modprobe fglrx
FATAL: Error inserting fglrx (/lib/modules/2.6.11.7/video/fglrx.ko): Operation not permitted

any ideas?

Re: [Request] ATI-drivers

Update:

Ok, I got it working. I forgot to compile AGPGART as a module, as well as disable DRM to make it work.

Thanks for the fine wiki-page!
