I'm trying out a nice, dark GTK metatheme called Gothic And Blue, and I can't get the GTK1 part of the theme to work. First I tried setting the theme manually, but that didn't work... So I downloaded gtk-theme-switch and previewed the theme, and this is what I got:
Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate loadable module in module_path: "libindustrial.so",
Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate loadable module in module_path: "libindustrial.so",
Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate loadable module in module_path: "libindustrial.so",
Needless to say, I can't actually apply the theme, only preview it.
What's worse, I can't apply any other GTK1 themes either, only preview them... And yeah, I've got the gtk1-engines package.
Does GNOME not like me switching gtk1 themes this way or something? If so, how do I get GNOME to recognize and apply the GTK1 theme?

Industrial is packed in gtk-engines (not gtk1-engines).

I have gtk-engines too. And as I said, *no* GTK1 theme can be applied, at all...

Are you running gtk1 applications (I tried napshare) ?
Did you install gtk-theme-switch2 for the gtk2 part ?
switch applies the gtk1 part of GothicAndBlue fine for me, just ignore the warnings.
It is odd you have to switch and switch2 because gnome-theme-manager does not list GothicAndBlue.

MPlayer and switch are both GTK1 apps.
I did not install gtk-theme-switch2, because GNOME takes care of the GTK2 part of things.
The warnings are not the problem; the problem is that no theme, not Metal, not the default Pixmap theme, not GothicAndBlue, can be applied. Themes can be previewed, but nothing happens when I try to apply them. Writing a .gtkrc file manually does not apply the theme either.
Gnome-theme-manager does list GothicAndBlue, it just can't take care of the GTK 1 part.
