I found recently a netbook that i had bought 2 years ago which had ubuntu 9.04 installed. I wanted for a long time to try arch and i seized tha chance. Everything works nicely(after upgrading the kernel) except my touchpad. It is not even recognized by the kernel (i think):

EDIT: as you can see i have a usb mouse that functions ok

Fixed it!! this took me soo long to figure out.
I simply added a kernel boot parameter: i8042=1
I am so happy this worked!!
