Need to open port 3306... How? [Solved]

I need to open port 3306 so that I can connect to my database. I just got very minimum installation with few programs on it. No iptables or something.  How and where can I do that?

If you're talking about mySQL, you need to edit hosts.allow and your mySQL configuration to allow remote access. Follow the instructions on the wiki.

If you're connecting from the same machine, you should not need to do this.

When you say it works, do you mean the problem is solved?

If so, could you please mark the thread as [SOLVED] by renaming the title?

Much obliged. Take care!
