I ran an system update today, and I am now unable to open JPEGs. For example, nitrogen can set PNGs as the current wallpaper, but not JPEGs. In the terminal, the error:
(nitrogen:5408): glibmm-CRITICAL **:
unhandled exception (type Glib::Error) in signal handler:
domain: gdk-pixbuf-error-quark
code : 3
what : Couldn't recognize the image file format for file '/dc/media/wallpaper/background.jpg'
is given whenever I try to set a JPEG as wallpaper. Furthermore, mirage doesn't recognize JPEGs as existing.
During the update, libjpeg-turbo was installed, and I am wondering if this might have something to do with this.
Anyone have suggestions?

Could you please rebuild one of those programs which doesn't work anymore against libjpeg-turbo? In case that solves the problem, it would be very helpful for Allan to know. But in my opinion this is definitely something for the bugtracker!

Or even downgrade to the old libjpeg and confirm everything still works then,

Downgrading gdk-pixbuf2 from 2.22.0-6 to 2.22.0-2 resolved the problem.

I had a similar problem upgrading to gdk-pixbuf2-2.22.1-1. geeqie and ristretto could not display jpegs.
Reinstalling gdk-pixbuf solved it for me.
