I am running Arch Linux on an ext4 partition (/dev/sda5) for a few months now, and I see a weird EXT4 error reported with dmesg after every boot:
root# uname -a
Linux home 2.6.37-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Feb 25 09:07:57 UTC 2011 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
root# dmesg
...
EXT4-fs (sda5): error count: 1
EXT4-fs (sda5): initial error at 1292074933: ext4_mb_release_inode_pa:3591
EXT4-fs (sda5): last error at 1292074933: ext4_mb_release_inode_pa:3591
The filesystem is mounted and appears to be working fine, but this message worries me. fsck on /dev/sda5 does not report ANY errors whatsoever. My fsck version:
root# fsck --version
fsck from util-linux 2.19
Any suggestions on what to try next?
