Location of log for Pass/Fails and other boot messages?

Hey guys, I booted Arch this morning and noticed a problem that hasn't come up before. Everything boots fine until I get to HAL, at which point I get 4 or 5 quick errors in a row. However, since this is fairly late in the boot I get kicked to terminal before I can read them. I've looked through dmesg and all my /var/logs/ but I can't find where these messages are stored. Am I just missing them? Are they kept separate from other logs?

Basically I'd like to find these messages so I can figure out the problem. If they're not stored anywhere can someone recommend a way to either slow down the boot or copy the text so I can paste it to read after boot? The only other solution I can think of is to keep rebooting and copying down the messages a couple words at a time, which would be time consuming and not very good for the hardware.
