Macbook 5,2 boot grub problem

I have installed arch2010_05x64.
I have reFIT with the related partition installed, Mac OS X 10.6 on another partition. For Arch Linux I have created 2 partitions: one for / (/dev/sda3) and another for swap.
I have installed grub on /dev/sda3.

While installing grub i get this output:
Checking if "boot/grub/stage1" exists...yes
Checking if "boot/grub/stage2" exists...yes
Checking if "/boot/grub/e2fs.stage1_5(hd0,2)" ... failed (this is not fatal)
Checking if "/boot/grub/e2fs.stage1_5(hd0,2)" ... failed (this is not fatal)
Running "install /boot/grub/stage1 (hd0,2) /boot/grub/stage2 p /boot/grub/menu.lst" ...succeeded

GPT is synced with MBR.

The first time I installed it, when it booted linux, GRUB freezed.

I have then tried to reinstall arch linux (same setup).
After booting to Linux, I get this text: GRUB ... and that's all.
The curious thing is that in reFIT I have now 2 linux options (one on hd and one on partition 3 - is this because the first time i installed linux i put grub into sda and now into sda3). No matter which one I choose, I get the same GRUB text.

Re: Macbook 5,2 boot grub problem

I have uninstalled GRUB from /dev/sda - using fdisk -u /dev/rdisk0 from single user mode.

Now it is installed only on /dev/sda3 - the linux partition, as it should have been. The thing is that the system freezes at the screen where I select what to boot. What can I do about this?

Thank you.
