Do GeForce460 cards have an analog component mode for the HDMI output?

Hi Arch forums,

Does anyone know if cables such as this can be used to output from the HDMI port on a nVidia GeForce 460 series card to a TV that takes usual comonent input?

I was trying to find answers on nVidia's site and found this:
"Please note: VGA to HDMI, Component to HDMI or any other type of analog video signal to a digital HDMI signal is not officially supported by the NVIDIA display drivers and therefore not recommended."
which doesn't sound like a definite no.

Has anyone ever tried to do what i'm proposing?

If not i guess something like this is the only solution (other than buy a new TV ), but if just the simple cable can be used, would be good...

edit:
even if someone outputting via HDMI on a newer nvidia card could let me know if there's like an "analog component mode" or similar setting in nvidia-settings, would be appreciated.

Not possible possible to use the cable, the graphic card would need a tv encoder for that, which it doesn't. So yeah, you need a converter box. Though I read that these things don't really provide good quality. So if I were you, I'd buy a new tv . Or maybe it'd be cheaper to buy a small monitor+tv card.
