I installed Gnome and after a few tweaks (problems with mounting devices-not authorized) i managed to access my other hard drive and usb sticks, etc, everything was fine but then i removed Gnome to try Openbox and after being a little lost, i reinstalled Gnome and now my hard drive doesn't appear on the file manager, if i plug a usb stick, it doesn't appear, if i put a cd, nothing... what could be wrong?

It sounds like a hal or udev problem, are they loaded in your rc.conf file?

In the rc.conf i have:
MOD_AUTOLOAD="yes"
and
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng hal network netfs crond)

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GN … d_by_GNOME might help. (I'm not using Gnome myself... But it looks like it might have something to do with dbus.)
PS: you probably don't need hal. You can check with something like "pacman -Qi | grep hal | grep Dep".
PS2: in fact some gnome stuff still uses hal... (http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/hal/)
Edit (third one :-\): should be "pacman -Qi", not "-Ql".
