I'm trying to get a newly compiled kernel working, but my comp fails to boot with it. Anyway I check all the logs hoping to find some info i can use to fix the problem, but all i get is info from my next successful boot with my previous kernel. Do i need to enable something so the info related to the crash is recorded in my logs?
cheers

As far as my knowledge goes, all the logging is done by the syslog-ng daemon. If it's not active yet, it can't log anything.

Is there a way i can pause the info printed on the screen then so i actually have time to read it?

I think this is what you need:

Thanks, but it doesnt get that far. It crashes and says something like "PID 1, comm: swapper Tainted " followed by some kind of trace info.
