[SOLVED] fsck boot problem

Hi everyone,

So I wanted to do a manual fsck since I don't like how it usually just springs it on you randomly. So, according to the Wiki, I entered

# shutdown -Fr now

as root. Computer restarted, started booting, then gave me a black screen with nothing except a flashing cursor in the upper left at the place where Grub was supposed to show up. It seemed like none of the commands or passwords I entered would register. I hard powered-off the computer, manually restarted, but it gave the same black screen and no Grub or Arch. So this is fairly urgent for me to get solved as I can't start Arch at the moment, let alone run fsck, but I feel like a total noob - any help is very much appreciated!

Re: [SOLVED] fsck boot problem

Sounds like a hardware or BIOS issue as it happens before grub even starts loading.

Re: [SOLVED] fsck boot problem

That makes sense - apologies again for making a post out of this. I've restarted the computer since then no problem, so hopefully this issue doesn't come up again.
