MPD plays songs faster than it should

MPD sounded like it was playing songs faster than it ought to, so I checked... And lo and behold, it was. What was 4:19 in MPlayer (and sounded normal) was 4:13 in gmpc (and sounded faster than it did with Rhythmbox). Uncommenting the

audio_output_format "44100:16:2"

line in mpd.conf and restarting MPD did not help. What exactly is going on here?

(Other than this minor problem, I ought to say that MPD is working very well. In fact, it's pretty much the best music player I've ever used.)

Re: MPD plays songs faster than it should

D'oh, me = f*ing idiot.

*RTFM... RTFM... RTFM...*

Edit: Libao has ALSA compiled in, and is version 0.8.6-1. Enabling or disabling audio_output_format makes no difference. MPD is not using up an abnormal percentage of CPU power.

Edit again: Hmm, looks like enabling audio_output_format solved the problem. Weird.

I'm using gmpc right now... IMO, it's a little better than glurp.
