Is a pentium-mmx 233 an i586 or i686?

I recently inherited an old Dell Latitude Laptop w/a P1 w/MMX, 233mhz.  Is this considered an i586 or an i686?  I know that it is older than the pentiumpro, which is an i686, but still a pentium1.  Anyway, I was just hoping that I could install arch now instead of waiting for the i586 port or installing vector linux (no offense to the vectorites).

not necessarily it depends on what sort of connection you have to the internet or how willing you are to do a little work. i have a non-bootable iso of base plus four packages (most are old packages). which you can use to install a base system to your box after that you will have to grab a few other packages and then rebuild/build most of what you want using abs and a custom package database.

I believe my ethernet has 100 Mb/sec capability, though they cap us at 10.  I don't know what I get off the main arch repository, but I used to pull about 750 kb/sec off of purdue's ftp server for mdk.  We use dhcp too :-).

Is there a nice walkthrough somewhere which would guide me through this complicated-sounding install procedure?
