Hello,
I am using openbox as standalone wm and smplayer for playing videos -and xscreensaver for, you know, screensaver-. My problem is, when I am playing a video with smplayer, it doesn't stop xscreensaver and screen gets locked. I did a research on this, I've read lots of threads but none of the solutions suggested solved my problem.
In one of the old threads I found someone saying adding
heartbeat-cmd="qdbus org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver /ScreenSaver org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver.SimulateUserActivity"
to mplayer config has solved their problem but it looks like this command is deprecated.
$ qdbus org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver /ScreenSaver org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver.SimulateUserActivity
Service 'org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver' does not exist.

Well, you're not using KDE session, aren't you? Therefor, qdbus is not started.
Use instaead something like:
heartbeat-cmd="/usr/bin/xscreensaver-command -deactivate > /dev/null"

Silly me, it's already mentioned on wiki, which is first place to look actually

Looks like adding
heartbeat-cmd="xscreensaver-command -deactivate >&- 2>&- &"
to mplayer config solved the issue.
BTW, thank you for quick replies
