nic dropping off

I have an annoying issue with my hardware.  Under high network stress, tho not high cpu load, my nic just stops working.

At first I thought it was just an issue with my mobo losing the onboard port.  So I tried fixing the problem by avoiding the problem.  I turned off the onboard port in bios and installed a pci 1x nic card.

Now the issue is happening with it too.

So my question is, How do I troubleshoot this?  Are there any known issues where this happens?

Thanks, SpicyNacho

Re: nic dropping off

Absolutely nothing.  The system seems perfectly fine.  I just lose complete connectivity.  I still have the console tho so if an interrupt is being stolen by some other device I could check... if I knew how.

Also I'm using kernel 2.6.28 if that helps.

Linux mythfe 2.6.28-LinHES #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Nov 1 06:47:02 UTC 2009 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

Thanks, SpicyNacho
