Resume from Suspend fail

Hi, i have a Compaq Presario 2541ea, i have done a fresh install of Arch linux 32 bits, i have install pm-utils to make hibernate and suspend work, the only issue is when i try to resume from suspend a kernel hung happens, how can i debug this issue, i have try to disable some HOOKS but no luck, i have try to suspend with some quirks options like vbe-post and vbestate-restore no luck, what can i do next?

Regards, Diogo.

Re: Resume from Suspend fail

You need to check (or post for others to check) the contents of "/var/log/pm-suspend.log" for debugging.

Re: Resume from Suspend fail

Try the instruction here:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pm … esume_Hook

I can't promise it will work, but given that there were no errors in your log, this is
a possibility.

Re: Resume from Suspend fail

I'm not sure what the problem is.  I see you are running kernel 2.6.33.  Have you tried upgrading your
kernel to see if this doesn't resolve your issue?

Man you rock i have update the kernel and is working

I have execute the command pacman -Su and the system has upgrade, some messages where appearing on the screen like execute db_upgrade dont know what is that and some files where rename to wpa_supplicant.conf.pacnew for exemple dont know what to do with this.

The db_upgrade is because of the new version of pacman that was just issued, and shouldn't be a problem if you followed the instructions.  I wouldn't worry about the wpa example config either since you should be using your own settings.  Congrats, and don't forget to edit the title of the thread [solved].

Edit: also, instead of "pacman -Su", you should perform a "pacman -Syu", as this will sync your database before performing an upgrade.  This ensures that your upgrade is performed with the latest packages.
