Hello,
I installed gnome shell from the gnome-unstable repo. As far as I can tell, I followed all instruction on the Gnome3 page of the wiki.
However, now I cannot use the top panel (or bar or whatever it's called).
1/ I can click on the nm-applet icon, but if I click on a network name or on 'Network settings', nothing happens.
2/ For the volume control, I can use the volume slider, but not 'Sound settings'.
3/ In the user menu, I can't click on Accounts, though I can change my status.
I can use 'nmcli' to connect, which is what I'm doing right now and I can open Sound settings from gnome-control-center.
Does anyone have any idea what is happening? I somehow suspect it's something I missed, though I can't figure out what. I did enable testing and I did everything else I was told.

all three, same bug, fixed by this commits:
http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-shell … 30ce836a2f
http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-contr … 3db828c0f2
i'm waiting new tarball releases
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

I thought they were related.
Thanks!
EDIT: Just saw the links...Those answer another question that I had too (why gnome-control-center wasn't showing up in the Applications list).

Hi, same problem here.
Installed gnome3 today.
Is the patch still not applied or is it something else?
