Evolus pencil (AUR) not working with xulrunner v2.0 [solved]

Hi lads,

I installed Evolus Pencil from AUR (evolus-pencil-svn), but I have problems making it work with new xulrunner. I  tried editing application.ini file to support Gecko engine >= 1.9, but with no success. Downgrade is always an option, but I'd like to skip it this time. New Firefox is a must-have piece of software pour moi...

Any ideas?

Go upstream and ask them about support (unless its a dead project).

Or downgrade and install firefox4 from the AUR, comes with its own xulrunner.

@ngoonee, thanks for suggestion. Pencil is not a dead (project)!
I was thinking about compiling xulrunner1.9 locally, since I also use conkeror.

Yes that would also work, of course. Long-term best to just get Pencil's upstream to support xulrunner 2.0 properly.

Please mark [solved] if it is. If you manage to compile xulrunner1.9 locally please upload a package to the AUR (see xulrunner-1.8 for an example) so others can benefit as well.

Duh... I don't need to compile xulrunner. I downloaded runtimes only, and it works like a charm. Just point runtime executable to pencil's application.ini and that's pretty much it... xulrunner runtime is available here. You should aslo note that evolus-pencil-svn from AUR is not the most current version of pencil! O_o
You can grab pencil v1.2 tar.gz from here

I'm too lazy to write AUR package right now... maybe one of these days...

You are of course free to do as you want. Please note however that all the AUR packages you use are contributed by someone just like you, sans laziness....
