XBMC's TV Show scraping problem

I've been facing an issue lately. Whenever, I try to update XBMC's library, it doesn't gets updated. It is working fine on Debian 6 & Windows 7 though, so it's an issue related to Arch only. I even deleted the .xbmc folder and tried to update it but the same issue persists. Its an issue with thetvdb scrapper. But it is working fine in Debian. Please help..

Are you using xbmc-git or xbmc from the official repo?

Also, did you update the mysql installation using upgrade-mysql-db (or a command something similar to that) when there was a big mysql update?

Oh.. damn.. MySQL may be the culprit.. I was so frustrated that I uninstalled it from my system.. I need to reinstall it and then check again.. beside.. I'm using xbmc from the official repo.. now I need to find what command is used to update the mysql-db.. will keep you guys updated...

The database is - afaik - sqlite, unless you explicitly set it to use MySQL.

OK.. solved it.. re-installed XBMC & MySQL & then deleted the .xbmc profile directory.. now it is working fine..

Damn it.. the problem re-surfaced again.. But I may have isolated the cause.. the thing is that I can open www.thetvdb.com website in browser but I can't ping it from the terminal.. Maybe, something is preventing XBMC to connect to thetvdb scraper.. any ideas?

Read the entire XBMC log.. the problem seems to be with NEON skin.. uninstalled it.. now it is working fine.. I think that I should file a bug report to XBMC devs..

I don't know why, but the problem keeps surfacing again & again.. I did a clean install again but the problem exists.. I'm adding my xbmc.log below. Hope it helps..

It is working fine on Debian 6 (64-bit) and Windows 7 (32-bit binary of XBMC. Windows is 64-bit)

Also, when I try to ping www.thetvdb.com from the terminal, it doesn't gets pinged, but it is opening fine in the browser..
