Currently the only way I can adjust screen brightness on my F11 (Nvidia GT330m) is by manually changing the value of the file /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/acpi_video0/backlight. When I do, I recieve a buzz. I had the same issue in openSuse 11.3 but when I switched to 11.4 the issue was resolved. I do not get a buzz in Windows 7. All OSes are 64-bit.

Do you mean the screen makes a buzzing noise?
All my LCD screens make such a noise, except when they are at their maximum luminosity.

Yes, the screen.
But it doesn't happen in Win7 or openSuse 11.4. And as far as I can tell, 11.4 and my Arch Install have the same kernel.

After following the steps here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=812490 the buzz has disappeared from the terminal and only happens when X is active.
However, things got more interesting. "startx" results in a black screen if I have set /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness to anything less than full brightness and a switch to a tty results in the tty flashing and then a black screen.
