Minecraft problems after full system update

So, yesterday after going through the troubles of getting pacman to update, then do a full system update, I now find that despite all efforts I've made.. Minecraft won't work. I've tried deleting everything to do with minecraft - I originally was using openjdk6 before updating - I've now tried the jre package, jdk package.. j2re package.. I've tried downgrading my java packages but to absolutely no avail.

Now what's happening is, I can start the launcher, it can do the updates, but straight after that, if I'm playing in the browser, it just turns white - or if I'm using the launcher, it just exits. I have no idea where to go from here

Please, can someone help me!

Start minecraft from a terminal to see what sort of output you get from it when it just exits. If you can't figure it out, paste it here in [ code ] tags.

Unless you haven't played in a while, there shouldn't have been any updates to minecraft. If that is the case, look in /var/log/pacman.log to see what packages you've changed/updated since it was working last.

I just ran minecraft from the commandline then, and I got

Segmentation fault

I'm having the same problem, looks like an nvidia issue, since the game works with nouveau, but a bit more slower and unstable, at least it works.
