[SOLVED] GNOME 3 old user doesn't works

Hi guys,

I can use Gnome3 with my test user, but when I tried with my normal user I can't see anything and gnome-shell is taking almost 100% CPU. I removed my old cfg with rm -rf .gnome2 .gconf .gconfd.

Any help please?

Re: [SOLVED] GNOME 3 old user doesn't works

Hi

I'm not sure what you mean by 'not seeing anything', 48 hrs after installing Gnome 3 I have the following issue, and solution.

Issue: After booting Arch, Gnome 3 starts and I'm taken to the Welcome/login screen.  If I log in a regular user my background kicks in and then ... nothing.  No activities bar (formerly top panel), no <Alt + F2>.  Only interactivity seems to be <CTRL + ALT + DEL> to logout, or drop to console.

Solution: (for me at least), drop to console, rm ~/.config/gnome-session/saved-session/*
I currently have to do this at every startup...

Reported at Gnome bugzilla #647359
