So yeah, after an update last night amarok1.4 (from the AUR) is flipping the script on me. Everytime I try running it it complains about libmysqlclient.16.so is missing, so after checking around the forums I just tried downgrading the package back to the previous version but to no avail. After more forum searching and googling, a lot of people were saying to just rebuild amarok and it'll work with the newest libraries. However upon rebuilding and installing amarok, I can't seem to find it. There's no executable in my /usr/bin folder, and as far as I can tell there are no installation files to be found anywhere, however after running pacman -Q amarok1 it shows that the package is indeed installed. So I'm a bit stumped as to where it is or how I can get things working again because quite frankly amarok2 is terrible. As always any help is greatly appreciated, thanks gentlemen.

Yeah I wasn't implying the kernel had anything to do with it really, just saying what kind of update it was. Either way, I will give that a go and see what happens. Thanks

Alright so after rebuilding amarok using a clean build directory I'm still running into the same problem. pacman -Q is returning that amarok is indeed installed but I'm still facing the same problem.
