[SOLVED] Resolution is not changeable

Hello, I'm new to Archlinux.
After installing, testing and searching through the wiki and the forum the whole day I've still got 2 problems.

I want to have a 1024x768 resolution. I'm on a 1001p netbook with an Intel GMA 1350. I don't know exactly which driver I am using, but i think it is the vesa driver. My current resolution is 800x600 and I can't change it in the settings. What do I have to do now?

Re: [SOLVED] Resolution is not changeable

Install xf86-video-intel

I have the identical netbook and for me the wireless works fine with the stock kernel

Re: [SOLVED] Resolution is not changeable

I installed xf86-video-intel and it didn't work. When I removed xf86-video-vesa and rebooted, the desktop didn't appear.

What is a stock kernel?

Re: [SOLVED] Resolution is not changeable

the stock kernel is 2.6.XX-arch and to change resolution u might need to look /boot/grub/menu.lst and remove any vga or vesa after the kernel line.

Moderator comment [ewaller]  When posting, please create a separate thread for each problem.  It allows others who are searching for a solution to one or the other of the problems to research their problem without having to read through noise that is unrelated to their problem.  Also, It allows you to declare a thread as solved on a problem by problem basis so that those extending help do not end up wasting their time.

Thanks.

Re: [SOLVED] Resolution is not changeable

Okay, I've changed this to resolution.

My kernel line only contains this : "i915.modeset=0". I used this in the installation because the screen went black.

Re: [SOLVED] Resolution is not changeable

I've installed kernel26-35-lts-arch from the AUR and it worked.
