First of all, this bug is not reproducible every time
My ethernet doesnt work properly when on battery.

Here is the dmesg output. When I remove it from AC power, I get 2-4 lines. When I insert it again, I get 5th line onwards.

There is a kernel bug which is yet unsolved since a long time. which prevented me from successfully resuming the netbook so I have intel_idle.max_cstate=0 as my kernel boot parameter.
I tried googling but couldnt get any proper results. Is it a known issue?

Do you have laptop-mode-tools installed? There is a setting for ethernet that will prevent ethernet from being used when on battery power.
I laugh, yet the joke is on me

OK. I will have a look at it. I cant confirm it now because I dont have connection via eth0 now as I am using USB modem.
Will post the results soon.

You shouldn't need an internet connection to verify it. "pacman -Q laptop-mode-tools" will tell you if you have it installed. If you do, check your settings in the configuration file
"/etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/ethernet.conf". Make sure you have this: "DISABLE_ETHERNET_ON_BATTERY=0" if you want ethernet while on battery power.

I have the exact same issue.
DISABLE_ETHERNET_ON_BATTERY is set to 0 for me.
