Install goes black...

Hello all, I'm new here. After much research I decided that Arch Linux was what I was really looking for in a distro.

I'm now having trouble installing it.

I downloaded the core x86-64 installation ISO and burnt it at the lowest speed possible. I insert it into my Lenovo 3000 n200 and boot from the DVD drive. From this point it appears to run through the boot process fine up until the end when my screen goes black. I've tried all the keys and key combinations I could think of. If you need anymore details I'd be more than happy to answer any questions about my setup. I would really like to get Arch on my system as it looks very promising. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
can't help you with that black screen issue directly but "Install from Existing Linux" could help.

wudu, thanks for the speedy reply. I'll look into that.

I was also thinking maybe it has to do with the video chip set of my laptop computer. I'm unsure on what it is at the moment but I'll post it when I get back to my house. If anyone else has anything to add that would be great. Thanks!

If your machine has an intel video card, try appending

video=SVIDEO-1:d

to the grub boot line
