System shutdown while installing

[copy from another thread with no replies]

It happens always in the Initramfs generation step

My system just shutdowns.

Happens in archlinux(releng) and debian(testing) installers.

Any idea?

a while ago I had a similar problem.

It is a laptop (with ATI) and was overheating in computing intensive tasks, probably like generating initramfs.

I cleaned the laptop with compressed air and that solved the problem.
