this is a big program with ettercap-gtk
When you start ettercap in GUI mode and select an interface it crashes and prints the error:
ERROR : 2, No such file or directory
[ec_manuf.c:manuf_init:126]
Cannot open etter.finger.mac
now its looking for its config files located at:
/usr/share/ettercap/
the non-gui ettercap seems to be working fine
and if you start ettercap-gtk in a directory with its config files it will work fine.
I have tryed using the root account and still dident help.
If anyone knows how to fix this please tell me its driving me insane.

I dont know what, but my problem got solved.. I tried downloading the tar and install it manually. But I wasnt successful.
The ./configure asked to invoke "libtoolize --copy --force". I did so. Now when I download the the packaghe in the Ach repo, it seems to be working absolutely fine.
