Hi there,
I've god a problem that X crashes randomly when playing videos, either with mplayer, or gnash in a web browser.
I need a hint on which log to look up to locate the problem. Can someone help? ![]()

Any errors in the logs? Define "crashes". What hardware do you have (graphics card) and which driver are you using?

I bet you have an Intel card.
Check in /var/log/Xorg.log

Thanks for the reply!
Well, the X restarted. I guess it's because X crashed first, then GDM somehow restarted X. I'm using an Intel video card.
I'll look into the log file next time X crashes.

Thanks a lot! Yes, both laptops use Intel cards and X crashes on both x86 and x86_64 Arch Linux systems. I'll look into the logs next time X crashes. ![]()

Don't bother. It's a known bug.
Avoid going fullscreen with glx apps and you'll be fine for the moment
