Hello there,
So, I thought it'd be great to play Eve once again, but this time there's one big problem: I've got ATI card and I cannot change it. So far I've managed to get it running with settings 'optimized for performance' without any graphical glitches (so far). With stargate and few players around I have ~30FPS, sometimes dropping to ~25FPS.
During fight with ~3 opponents near asteroid field, station etc. it's ~23FPS, so I hope you can help me improve Eve performance.
My specs:
Core i3 350M 2,26
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
4GB RAM
Arch64
Wine 1.3.18-1 (from multilib)
Catalyst 11.3-2 (from apocalypsus.net repo)
Installed with winetricks: d3dx9, corefonts, vcrun6, vcrun2003, vcrun200
Wine registry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D]
"DirectDrawRenderer"="opengl"
"MaxFragmentUniforms"="1024"
"MaxVaryings"="52"
"MaxVertexUniforms"="1024"
"Multisampling"="enabled"
"OffscreenRenderingMode"="fbo"
"PixelShaderMode"="enabled"
"UseGLSL"="enabled"
"VertexShaderMode"="hardware"Last edited by zainin (2011-04-19 18:50:37)

Disable glsl shading and it will boost your fps by 50-100%
using winetricks glsl=disable or in your settings file, does not matter.

You're right, now I'm able to run Eve almost flawlessly with high settings (dropping to ~24, when there's many details around). Thanks!
