Creating filesystems fail on automatic partitioning and manual

(My first time trying x86-64)

I'm using a new OCZ ssd, and I've done this all before on another one with no hiccups at all.
I tried automatic which just yields "Error partitioning /dev/sda"  Alt+F7 shows "sfdisk: Failed writing the partition on /dev/sda"

Manual partitioning works, but configuring block devices, filesystems, etc. with various configurations, including the default for automatic, yields "Could not create all needed filesystems.  Either the underlying blockdevices didn't became available in 10 iterations, or process_filesystem failed"  Alt+F7 shows no errors...

I'm having troubles searching for a way to make sure my usb install image isn't flawed.

Any thoughts? Thanks

Sometimes I just want people to expect me to do what I would do instead of what most people would do.

Re: Creating filesystems fail on automatic partitioning and manual

Tried it on an old hdd and it worked...does that mean my ssd is no good?  Or is there another step I'm just forgetting for ssds?

I'm having the same problem, first time installing arch on a ssd. Did you ever figure this problem out? Thanks.

edit: saw your other post here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=111460.
