recently, I have been testing the new dm-snapshot branch of archiso, which is a huge commit removing aufs2. It is the new build with smaller size, and leans toward the standard.
[Arch]
I use archiso-git to create this live CD, the packages are the latest. Like arch, which emphasizes simplicity, I dont customized the distro at all. The packages are only bundled together to work properly.
[openbox]
I think openbox is really customizable and fast. Using this, march is able to boot in 10sec with initial mem 50mb.
keybinding
window+up: volume up
+down volume down
+right mute/unmute
window +q show menu
window + e chromium
window + t urxvt
[Lnf]
All packages I included are from the 1st GUI app of the LnF 2011. They are carefully selected and compared one by one.
Because it is a LiveCD afterall, I include office suite, image viewer, browser, pdf viewer, text editor, terminal, file manager, and archiver.
I also include xf86-input-synaptics and wicd-gtk for laptop users.

@pablokal
I added ati and nv driver. It should work now.
The iso is now hosted on github.

Hi I would like to install it, is it possible to install it?
It seems it doesn't have a install script.

Thanks, for the adaptation. Doesn't work though.
It is a configuration issue; I can't open or get the xorg0.log because of the frozen screen.
Same error message: .Xauthority doesn't exist.
Tried the first iso on an older pc and there it works ok.
Is there a root password defined and what is it? No root action possible in pcmanfm because of lack of gksu.
No rc.xml file in .config/openbox; a basic one with defined keyboard shortcuts of installed apps would be nice.
Look at the Archbang liveCD for inspiration.

how to add boot option? like 'noapic'

press [tab] before hit [enter]
@pablokal
1. on my machine, it also shows "message: .Xauthority doesn't exist." but it continues to boot.
2. root does not have password. when you need root privilege, just type "sudo <your command>". (no password required)
BTW, does the system freeze(kernel panic)? or it just cannot start xserver? I have no idea now.
If you can boot, try to logout, and login as root. Error log is the key.

/march/setup to install(warning! it is automatic. be really careful)
I think your can type "march noapic acpi=off". I know what you feel. This is exactly what happens when I install arch.

try to logout, and login as root.
That's the problem. With a frozen screen I can only close down the pc by hand with the on/off switch

No, the booting process seems to go well, but in the end there is a xorg failure message, and then a frozen mostly black screen with some colors on the edges.

I am sorry, this will be a little bit off topic but, I was wondering if any decent tutorials exist about how one can make custom arch live CD. I have tryied doing it myself but no luck so far.
Yo Dawg, I heard you likes patches, so I have created a patch for your patch, so you can patch your patches before you patch.

@pablokal
should you try "noapic acpi=off in boot options"? did you install arch on this computer before?
@yasar11732
archwiki topic:archiso. This should help you a lot.

I have three different succesfull Arch installs on this pc.
Regarding noapic; this seems a highly unplausible solution for relatively new ( one year old) hardware.

You could also try larch, which allows you to save changes to your pendrive (although you could modify archiso to do this)

1. I will make english version soon, and 64bit version during summer vacation!
2. /march/setup
just like /arch/setup to install archlinux, /march/setup will automatically install march on your machine. You will have to wait for 20 minutes to let it run. After that, restart, and everything works just like in live cd.
Note: it will wipe out ENTIRE drive, but if you use vbox, then it is fine.

How can we switch the menus to English?
edit:
Nevermind, I changed my USB to another install. Not having an English iso is a bit of a bummer!

OK. I made some important decisions.
1. march is going to be 64 bits.
2. march will display english.
3. march will still support chinese font and input method.
The test build can be downloaded now.
