ATI monitor blinking

Hi.

I've just switched my old graphics card ATI Radeon 9600 for newer HD 3450 and I have a problem with monitor blinking.

I use kde as a desktop environment. After booting to kdm, everything is fine, but after logging in blinking starts.
The screen is blinking even inside ttys and even after X is killed. An odd thing is that it doesn't happened if i use openbox instead of kde.

I use xf86-video-ati drivers and the card uses AGP bus.

I've been looking into dmesg and Xorg.0.log, but I don't see a problem in there.

I am enclosing a relevant part of dmesg:

Re: ATI monitor blinking

Try disabling kernel modesetting ([drm] radeon kernel modesetting enabled) using the radeon module parameters.
Disabling this allowed me to get a system using a Radeon X1250 into a usable state.

I knew I forgot to write something. I actually tried disable KMS, but without it X server doesn't work at all. The screen goes black
and Xorg.0.log says:

(EE) AIGLX error: Calling driver entry point failed
(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering

Have I done something wrong?

Re: ATI monitor blinking

Same to me, I saw there is a patch in bug tracker but it's time taking and actually I want clean system. Btw, maybe you know how to change resolution on nouveau driver?
