Hi,
There are two updates for kernel 2.6.38:
kernel26-2.6.38.2
kernel26-2.6.38.3
which version did you update to?
I had a problem with the latest update: my computer got a total freeze after being on for just about twenty minutes tops. I'm not sure of what exactly triggered the freeze. I also use the x64 arch version. Everything stops working, None of the regular escape keys work and I think since I still didnt configure ACPI very well, power button wont shut my laptop down. I have to disconnect the battery to start again.
Did anyone else have this problem? Is there anything I can do to test it and help someone correct the release?
It is possible that it has something to do with the wireless module being used at the time, but I didn't have any wired connection to make the test.
Regards!

My wifi went dead when my last system upgrade took my Thinkpad to 2.6.38.x. Reverting to 2.6.37 restored it. I think it is because my driver is rtl and in AUR. I tried a system upgrade with yaourt, but the rtl driver isn't updating successfully...

I have problems with 2.6.38.x as well, but only when running my laptop on battery power. I only noticed them since version 2.6.38, probably because I haven't used WiFi on battery since before the update to 2.6.38. In 2.6.37 everything worked fine. My wireless driver is rt2800pci on a Ralink RT2860 adapter, which I have been using since version 2.6.35 with no problems.
When I'm on battery, WiFi drops tons of packets, and so everything becomes extremely slow/non-functional. I thought it may be a problem with laptop-mode tools, so I disabled wirless power management in the configuration file, but the problems persist.

Hi views63,
which program do you use to manage your wireless connections?
Have you tried, just for testing, using it with an un-encrypted connection?
What does "iwconfig" list? Does it have a wlan0 interface or something like it?
I can try to help you, but Im not an expert. =]
