from what is see in the pictures, that is the theme for the old gdm. you can't really use that with new gdm
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

themes are NOT supported in gdm. gdm uses the exact themes for gtk/icon and wallpaper. is a matter of configuring the gdm user to use the themes.
depending of what version do you have, look at wiki gnome 2.30 changes or gnome 3

I'm also having a few problems changing my GDM wallpaper.
I've tried a few methods such as replacing it and using gdm2setup, but the replacement failed and gdm2setup does nothing at all when I click apply (for the wallpapers that is, everything else will apply)

OK, I looked up and read the article in which you suggested ( https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GNOME_2.30_Changes ), and did not find anything dealing with install a GDM login theme... I mean I am starting to think it is impossible to install a Gnome GDM theme, I tried everything...

Did you follow these step here?
Other then that, i also found the customization of gdm to be annoying, and therefore switched to slim, witch is easily themeable.

I use a similar log in theme, Arch Linux Simply Black.

I use gdm-old and archlinux-themes-gdm from the AUR.
These make it easy to change via GUI, login window preferences, local tab.

Ended up taking the downgrade path Jeff suggested and it's working out well. Thanks Jeff.
