This time the title of the topic really says it all... I have totem installed which I use as a media player not only for video but for audio files too.
A friend of mine sent me some videos in WebM format and when trying to play them it displays a message stating that there's no VP8 decoder installed, running totem from a terminal the following message is displayed:
** Message: Missing plugin: gstreamer|0.10|totem|VP8 decoder|decoder-video/x-vp8 (VP8 decoder)
** Message: Automatic missing codec installation not supported (helper script missing)
I have installed gstreamer0.10-{good-plugins,ugly-plugins,ffmpeg} and I thought gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg would be able to decode them but it isn't. What is needed to play WebM files with Totem? The automatic codec installation should have to do with PackageKit, so it is not possible to enable it in Arch right?

the plugin is in gstreamer0.10-bad-plugins.
pacman -S gstreamer0.10-plugins
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
