Re: Problem with PPPoE & ADSL conection

I assume this is the article you had read.  If not, well, then give it a try.

I have not used PPP since I had a dial-up modem.  I think the one step you are missing is the kernel module.  You did not saw whether you had added ppp-generic to your modules array.  Check that the module is loaded with lsmod.

pppoe-start what you should use to start adsl connection. Or you can use networkmanager.

Yes, i read the wiki (pppoe setup with pppd)...
I never did the PPPoE conection with pppd... because, always worked aplying the steps that i have mentioned before.

Anyway, I tried the conection with pppd, and doesn't work.

Respect ppp-generic module...
I couldn't see the complete list  by lsmod... but, i used:

modprobe ppp-generic

Also, (later) i used
modprobe pppoe
modprobe pppox
in addition to ppp-generic

and the conection, not work.

i see the error.log :

it's a problem with the devices..... The system couldn't search the pppoe device.. in the eth0 interface...
if i run ifconfig -a..   Only shows, eth0 and lo

In debian.... shows eth0  lo   and  ppp0           (but the configuration it's different.. it was made with pppoeconf)

i run dhcpcd.... but.. doesn't work...

In windows, the pppoe conection works.... but... with DHCP.. the system shows a popup with:
"No ip associated"  the connectivity is limited or null     (but, runs OK)

Inclusive, i push Reset button in my modem... and.. it continues as before

PD: I have only one ethernet card.... (no usb)

hmm
